Daisy, Who Changed Everything

But still photography remained his first love. And when Daisy, a nine-week-old cavachon came into his life everything aligned.

Their walks across Hampstead Heath began as a simple afternoon routine. But over time, those walks turned into rituals. And the rituals turned into reflections. With his camera in hand and Daisy leading the way, Jonathan began to document their quiet world until one day, he realised it had become something more.

“No two walks were ever the same. The same trees. The same paths. But seen anew, every day.”

- Jonathan Posner

Behind The Whole World and His Dog

A Thousand Days in The Making

The idea for The Whole World and His Dog wasn’t born overnight. It wasn’t even born on purpose.

For over three years, Jonathan and Daisy walked the same route across Hampstead Heath. No two walks were ever the same. The light changed. The colours shifted. The seasons turned. The same trees. The same paths. But seen anew, every day.

Jonathan never set out to make a book. But slowly, the photos accumulated, and so did the meaning behind them. The patterns, the pauses, the sense of time unfolding and expanding. As he began to edit and write, the shape of the story revealed itself: a record of presence. Of companionship. Of memories and reflections. Of seeing the familiar more clearly.

This book is the result of that unfolding. A thousand days of moving through the world with intention, and of following a dog who knew the way all along. To honour that journey, the book was meticulously printed and bound in Italy, each page overseen with the same care and attention that guided the walks themselves, and published under Buchanan Press.
